In the afternoon of December 18th, 2015, SICLE’s 15th “Xueyun Zhonghua” Chinese Talent Contest was held in the studio of the College of Humanities in Jingxin Hall. More than 300 students from over 40 countries and areas participated in this contest. Dean Hui Yue opened the ceremony with welcoming remarks.
SICLE, in order to develop its program in teaching Chinese as a foreign language, hosts each year this Chinese Talant Contest. Students incorporate Chinese language and culture into skits, comedic skeches, singing and dance, etc. These kinds of extracurricular activities help enrich the students’ experience in China, and also improve their Chinese ability. The Chinese Talant Contest is not only a metric of the instruction provided by SICLE instructors, but also a key component of students’ practicum in the program. The “Xueyun Zhonghua” Chinese Talant Contest has become a cultural extravaganza for the students at the end of each year, highlighting the development and success of JLU’s international Chinese education.
Vice Deans of the College of Humanities Mingchen Lu, Zhaopeng Kong, Wujun Chen; Vice Deputy Director of the Division of International Relations, Tiejun Bu; Vice Dean of the College of International Education, Bing Bai; and the leaders from the International Exchange and Service Center of JLU attended the Contest.
