“Finding the Beauty of Jilin”, an activity sponsored by the Culture Department of Jilin Province and Jilin Provincial People’s Government Information Office, hosted by Jilin Hanban and Changchun University, concluded at Changchun University on November 7th.
SICLE’s students 玛莎，尼古拉斯，林志玹 representing Jilin University participated in this activity. Their performance, which dealt with the customs and culture of the Yanbian Korean ethnicity, proved to be extrememly popular. The performers received extensive applause for the piece’s creative design and their skillful performance and eloquent speech. The judges and audience members all praised this performance, which won the competition. In addition to winning the competition, this piece also earned the title, “Chinese Bridge – Experiencing Jilin’s Beauty – Star of Chinese Culture.” In addition to this, SICLE’s teacher, Lili Li, won the prize for Best Director.
This journey to explore Chinese culture not only increased the foreign students’ enthusiasm to know Chinese language and culture better, it also established a solid foundation from which they can be a bridge of this culture to the world.
